Volume

Today I made a google drawing on what is volume and how to get to it. I want say too much about this so just have a look at it down below. There is also the video I learnt off of, if that does not work use this Link.

Did you originally know what volume was?

Currencies

Today for Math I had to chose 2 other currencies and compare them to New Zealand's Currency. I did what is the exchange rate, a picture of the country, what currency they use, and lastly what other countries use that currency.

New Zealand Currency - Maths

Today for Maths I made a slideshow on the History of New Zealand Currency. I won't give any spoilers so check it out. Do you know any other reasons these people were put on the notes?

How to Simplify Fractions

So lately in Math I have been learning how to simplify fractions. Now I am going to teach you, I have attached a google drawing so you know. Simplifying fractions gets way easier after a couple practices.

Just in case my explaining wasn't helpful I placed a Math Antics video too. I also have ones to try for yourself.

Now if you are to simplify a fraction you do this: For example, 12/24. Looking at this fraction it may look kind of hard right? Not exactly, the truth is that honestly the simplified version is 1/2, 6/12 or maybe 3/6.

Now to teach you how to get this, I would write this again. But I have written this once on the google drawing go check it out.

Short division strategy

W.A.L.T. Divide using short division.
For Math today I did a video on how to do short division. I hope that it helps.
Can you do long division?

New Strategy

This screencastify shows you how to work out multiplication with bigger numbers.
Do you know how to do it already?

Word problem working out

W.A.L.T. Add using integers
For Math yesterday I did word problems. Now I have to make a blog post on one equation I did.
I chose to do this one:
Room 1 raised a total $63.12. They want to divide it equally between four charities. How much will they give to each charity?
So I started with 60 and divided it by 4. 60 divided by 4 = 15. Because 4 lots of 15 make 60.
Then I got the 3. I did 75+75=1.50 Then I did 1.50 + 1.50 to get 3.00.
So then you have 15 dollars and 75 cents. But now we do the 12 cents. First do 12 divided by 4 which equals 3. So plus 3 cents to the 75 to get 78 cents and then the answer is $15.78.
Do you know an easier way?

Coordinates for a buddy

W.A.L.T. Describe locations and give directions using grid references.
For Math today I made a google drawing that had coordinates on it. I had to share it with a buddy. We share it with a buddy so the buddy can find the coordinates that I made.
Here is the google drawing. Can you spot any of the coordinates?

Reading Coordinates

For Math today I made a google drawing on how to read coordinates. I hope this helps, all the information you need to read coordinates are in the drawing. Tell me in the comments if this helped.

Cool Coordinates

W.A.L.T. describe locations and give directions using grid references.
For Math today I made a google drawing about coordinates.
Coordinates are like directions, you follow them to get were you need to be. Like a map.
Have a look at my google drawing for a better example.
Once you read my instructions answer this question:
Do you know how to read coordinates now? If not explain why.

Maths Revision

W.A.L.T. Review what we have learnt.
For Math today we had to do this google slideshow that sort of shows what we have learnt. It is about angles, geometry and shapes. Do you know what the difference between 2D and 3D shapes are?
Here is my slideshow. Do you like?

Reflection

W.A.L.T. Reflect and find lines of symmetry in shapes.
For Math today I made a google drawing, I cropped a flower in half and I made the other half with the tracing tool. Do you know any other objects I could have done symmetry for?
The line down the middle is called the line of symmetry. On one half is the original half and on the other is the flipped half.

Super Symmetry

W.A.L.T. reflect and find lines of symmetry in shapes.
For math today I did an online app about symmetry. What I had to do was draw a picture and on the bottom half it copied it to make it symmetrical. Here is a screenshot of my image.

Reflection

W.A.L.T. reflect, rotate, translate and find lines of symmetry in shapes.
For Math today I was looking at reflection. I had to make a copy of a google slideshow and take a screenshot. The slideshow has pictures of a shape and a line we have to rotate the shape to make it look like a reflection, like in a mirror. A reflection is something that is flipped over to make the shape but opposite. Do you know now how to make a sandwich? My shape is the one in grey.

Tessellations

W.A.L.T. Move a shape from one point to another without changing the shape, direction or size.
For Math today we were doing another Tessellation. I tried to get my tessellation to look like a weaved pattern sort of thing,  but the colours I chose did not go with each other. What is a tessellation?

Tessellation

W.A.L.T. move a shape from one point to another without changing the shape, direction or size.
For Math today I had to make another Tessellation. At the bottom I put my tessellation. Have you made a tessellation before? What colours did you use? Was it fun? Would you make another one?

Math reflection

W.A.L.T. Describe different angles and their roles in rotation.
What have I enjoyed in geometry this week?
This week I enjoyed doing work on the protractor. I liked playing the protractor activity where I had to figure out the degrees.
What I want to do in geometry next week?
I am unsure on what I want to do next week for geometry.
Do you like geometry?

Protractors

W.A.L.T. Describe different angles and their roles in rotations.
For Math today we are to do a worksheet on protractors and what degrees they are indicating. We also had to make a digital learning object to teach people about how to use a protractor. Protractors are great at helping you work out the degree of an angle. You put the vertex of the shape into a little hole and then line up the angle with the zero mark. Here is my digital learning object (DLO). Do you know how to use a protractor?

Awesome Angles

W.A.L.T: Identify the different types of angles.
For Math today we were doing geometry again. This time we had to make a DLO on ways to me remember the angles. The angles I did were acute, reflex, obtuse, right, straight and full rotation.
I also had to add pictures. Do you know anymore ways to remember the angles?

Amazing Math

For Math today I am supposed to look at angles and practice them. I also had to have a google drawing explaining the angles. The angles are Obtuse, Acute, Right, Straight, Full Rotation and Reflex. My google drawing is here with what each angle is and an illustration. What do you think? Is this google drawing useful?
