Positives and Negatives of Social Media

 Today for Cybersmart we have been making a pros and cons list of social media. We used the app Biteable, a very cool app. You can make animations and stuff, with motion and music.

My opinion on Social Media. 

It is a hard thing to think about, if I am being honest. Every app has pros and cons. Though I still reckon that social media can be a good thing, sometimes at least. Like, you can connect with people you know, and share interests and opinions. As well as, growing friendships to be stronger and making friends. 

Even though there are heaps more of my cons down below, I do kind of reckon that it is more specific. Where the pros are a bit more inclusive to many ideas, like a bit of a summary of some. Down below are the positives and negatives. So, I believe that through this work I have found that social media is very good, in some contexts. Though, don't talk to someone you don't know it could be a catfish.

What is your opinion, is social media good or bad?

Positives.

- You could make friends.

- Be able to contact others.

- Share opinions and ideas.

- Get an understanding on what is happening, news wise.

- Find stuff you like, such as hobbies and interests.

- You can relate to others interests.

- Learn stuff.

Negatives.

- Catfish.

- Mental Health Disorders.

- False advertising.

- Cyber bullying.

- Death threats/threats.

- No limit to content.

- Hackers.

- Scams.

- Click Bait.

- Being trolled.

- No consequences.

 W.A.L.T analyse our blog comments 

Today for Cybersmart I did a google drawing on my most recent comments. I had to rate them, whether they are good or bad. From there I had to also add what emotion this might give someone. Either happy, okay, sad, or angry/sad. I think I did a pretty good job with this task. I then put little side notes on the google drawing saying what went good here and stuff like that. There is some photos down below.

How to post a good comment

 Today for Cybersmart I made a poster on How to Post a Good Comment. I used Canva, a great app. When your posting a good comment always make sure to use Positive, Thoughtful, Helpful. (PTH.) You also ask a question at the end. If the blog post has a question you also answer it.

When you positive comments you always need to think about the positive side, and don't think of the negatives.

Posting thoughtful comments is when you show a common interest or something you have similar.

Then finally if your doing helpful, you tell them something, like advice. For example: Don't forget to put a capital letter at the start of the title.

Blog Battle

 Today for Cybersmart Arnaika and I, my buddy. Did the Blog Battle. Where we go through each others blog and see if they have certain things. If we have some of these specific things we get points of points taken. In the part I put for Arnaika, not all the photos would work, or I had no photos. Arnaika and I got the same amount of points though, 67. We only got added points, none taken away.

How to Blog

 W.A.L.T. To explain the purpose of a blog.

Today for Cybersmart I made a comic with Arnaika and Tallulah they are in my class. We made a comic about what the purpose/how to do a blog post. 

It was a fun, I got the characters from Flaticon. I presented my work in the form of a Digital Learning Object.

Summer Learning Journey

 W.AL.T. Try out the colouring google app.

Today I did a drawing on google colouring in book. It was a monkey and a lady. The monkeys arm is not coloured in because I could not edit it but otherwise it was good. This app is really good. You should try: Art Coloring Book Google Arts. My copy surely isn't like the original but it still is kind of cool. My eyes are pretty creepy, but they don't work. But they do work, kind of.

Brush Ninja

 Today for Cybersmart I had to use a brand new app. I chose Brush Ninja I am doing a rocket ship.

Brush Ninja is heaps and heaps of fun. I recommend using this app, it is great. You use many different paint brushes. GO try it out. Have you used it before?

With the rocket ship I had to draw the rocket ship a couple times but with slight movements. It took a little bit of time but was worth it.

Tracing

W.A.L.T. Trace an image using the correct tools on google drawing.

For Cybersmart today I traced a pineapple. The little squares where hard because they kept stopping and I had to restart all the time.

I really enjoyed tracing because it was very fun.

Lego challenge

In the holidays we were given a Lego challenge. Day 3 was to build as new house for your parents. I completed it yesterday but  posted this today. My house is rainbow and has some odd peices. Do you like it?

Etiquette

This slideshow includes ways to be etiquette when using Google Hangouts.
Our class and other classes are using google hangouts, but there are some rules behind it.
1- you can't be in your bedroom or the bathroom. When using google hangouts you should be in the living room or the kitchen maybe.
2- make sure you have tidied yourself up, you don't want to have a marmite stain while you are on google hangouts.

Animations

For Cybersmart we were to make animations. You probably would have seen an animation. An example, have you seen the whistling Mickey Mouse. It is at the start of some movies. I made an animation involving dogs. I do not want to give a big spoiler so have a look at my animation.

For the Summer Learning Journey Teaser week we had to create similes.
A simile uses like or as to make a comparison, An example: The ball streaked across the field like a meteor.

Donald Trump and the wall

If Donald Trump asked me for opinion on the wall I would kind of disagree, I do not really see the purpose and if someone wants to cross the border, they should be able to cross the border.

Here is a little information about the wall and Donald Trump.

Donald Trump the president of the United States built a wall between Mexico and the U.S.A.

Donald Trump was elected as America ́s President in 2016, and promised he would put the wall
between U.S.A and Mexico.

Donald Trump wanted people to stop crossing the American-Mexican border.

Earlier this year a caravan came through the South and Central America on its way to the
American-Mexican border. The people were heading to America to find jobs and better life.

Some people strongly agreed others strongly disagreed about the wall.

We did Cybersmart today with our teacher Miss Holland. She got pixel images and started them off we finished them now it looks like this.

Interesting Interland

For Cybersmart this week we have been on a site called Interland and it is about being smart and safe on the internet. There are 4 different lands/worlds that you can choose to play, I picked the red one.
Some levels are about passwords others are about bullying and sharing.

Public or Private information

W.A.L.T:understand public and private information.

Today we did work on Public and private and we had to identify what is public and private we had to highlight the private information in red and the public in green if we we not sure we just had to highlight it either yellow or orange.
The poster was talking about where they lived or how old they were and then we highlighted what it was.

Once we had finished that we got into a group of two me and Jaimie went in sat in room three, we wrote about a fake character and all about that person it was not real but we had to say stuff like,
where they live or there best friend but we had to write public and private  information in the story.
My fake name was Diana Sprinklespout and she went to South Chicago Academy.

Persuasive writing (Chromebook)

Today with Miss Holland we did some work on using persuasive language and we had to make a google drawing on why she should buy a Chromebook and we had to persuade her. We had to give her reason like buy one get none free (and no I did not spell one wrong I mean none), it was the most fun all week and I enjoyed it more than doing PowToons.

 I think I did a pretty good job persuading her. In my list of things to persuade her I said that you will look cooler than Tom Cruise and things like your brain will explode and I have a really cool background.

Who is Mark Maddren?

Today we did Cybersmart with Mark from Core education.
We did kind of  a treasure hunt to find private information about Mark Maddren it was fun most of us could not find his home number,where he lives and how old he is I found another Mark Maddren and it said that he was 55 but that was not true.
I found his kids, a picture of him and his work number and where he works.👍
We also learnt what private and personal information meant we learnt that we should not give away information about our birth dates, address, home number and age.
Our class learnt some things that you give away are okay like your favourite food or maybe your pet it also could be your absolute favourite movie that stuff is okay because no one can figure out where you live because that is useless information and you can not be tracked down without private information.
Public information is technically the same thing as personal information because that is open to the public.
Sometimes you may instead make some of your personal private that would be probably because you do not want something to be seen and that is okay anything you want to keep private is private.
Some people don´[t even want to be on the internet and that is okay to.
