Rivalries

Rivalries, competition for the same objective or for superiority in the same field.
5 Rivalries in sport:
Number One
Green Bay Packers and Chicago bears

Number Two
Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics

Number Three
Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali

Number Four
Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees

Number Five
Ohio State and Michigan

Many other people, not just in sport have rivalries. Some people do not have a rivalry between someone or some group. Such as Batman and Joker.

Can you name any other rivalries?

  1. Hello Jennah,
I am Vitaraag and I am participating in the Summer Learning Journey from the Ako Hiko cluster. I really enjoyed this blog post! Let me elaborate on why I like it, Firstly, instead of adding three rivalries you added five. I also like how you thought of like all sports one. Personally, I am not really a sporty guy I am like a person who likes to try out everything. For example I like to try out sports and academic things. Maybe next time you could add more information about each rivalry. Overall, this is an astonishing blog post! Keep up the phenomenal work!

  2. Kia ora Jennah, this is Kieryn from the Summer Learning Journey.
You have done an awesome job creating this post about three big rivalries. I really like how you have managed to include so much information, and think it was great how you have incorporated images to match each rivalry!
Including the definition of the word ‘rivalries’ at the beginning of this post was a fantastic idea, so ka pai for going the extra effort!
I have never really been someone who follows sports so it was great to learn about these rivalries.
Joe Frazier vs Muhammad Ali sounds like quite a physical rivalry! Boxing is such a physically hard, intensive sport, and with two amazing players like this pair battling for the top spot I can only imagine how competitive it would get! Who do you think would win in a fight, Joe Frazier or Muhammad Ali?
It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment and let me know!
Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees and Ohio State vs Michigan both sound like great rivalries as well, and it is fantastic to see you included images of each team smiling and respecting each other. Not all rivalries need to be physical or negative! Healthy competition is good competition, and these photos are prime examples of this.
Sport seems to be one of the biggest sources of rivavly, and I would assume that it because it is already such a competitive game.
Have you or anyone you know ever been a part of a rivalry before?
    Keep up the great work!
    Nga mihi
